Editorial Standards & Research Methods

Primary-Source Sourcing

Every Metabolic Uncle article is grounded in primary peer-reviewed scientific literature. Rather than repeating secondary summaries, textbook folklore, or commercial talking points, we examine the original randomized controlled trials, systematic reviews, prospective cohort studies, and mechanistic experiments.

Double Citation Link Verification

Every cited reference undergoes a two-stage verification gate before an article is published. First, each DOI or PubMed identifier is resolved against the Crossref handle registry or NCBI E-utilities API to confirm that the link is live and that the bibliographic title and authors match the cited study. Second, every outbound link is verified in a live browser to confirm that readers land directly on the primary source.

Evidence Tier Honesty

Different study designs answer different questions. We state explicitly whether a finding comes from a human randomized controlled trial, an observational cohort, or an in-vitro or animal model, and we report sample sizes, dosages, durations, and effect magnitudes verbatim from the underlying papers.

Human Editorial Review

Every article is humanly reviewed and approved by The Uncle before publication. Quantitative claims, physiological mechanisms, and practical protocols are checked word-for-word against the source literature so that no statistic is exaggerated and no limitation is omitted.

Independence

Metabolic Uncle is 100% reader-supported through our software and educational courses. We carry no advertisements, accept no brand sponsorships, and include no affiliate links in any article.
